About the Role

Join Apleona GmbH in Neu-Isenburg as a Sustainability & Strategy Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability who reports to the Group CEO. This position offers direct exposure to top management and investors, providing significant visibility within the company and the opportunity to influence both strategic planning and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Advance Apleona's sustainability strategy focusing on decarbonization, compliance with CSRD, and enhancing ESG positioning for investors and clients.
Monitor evolving regulations (such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and CSDDD) and develop actionable recommendations for the company.
Lead ESRS-compliant sustainability reporting including materiality assessments, data collection, and coordination with auditors.
Manage data quality, reporting procedures, and preparation for ESG ratings (MSCI, S&P Global CSA, Sustainalytics).
Develop concepts and implement measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain (Scope 1-3).
Coordinate operational decarbonization projects in collaboration with Operations, Finance, and Business Units.
Prepare complex ESG topics into clear decision-making documents and presentations for executive leadership and investors.
Collaborate within cross-functional teams across regions and business units.

Candidate Profile

2 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably in strategy consulting, ESG consulting (e.g., Big4 or boutiques), or corporate sustainability management.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to structure and present complex topics effectively.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, and GHG Protocol.
Proven track record managing cross-departmental programs involving multiple stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills and confidence in interacting with senior management.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ESG reporting tools, Power BI, or database solutions is an advantage.
Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
