About the Role
This permanent position involves more than 65 hours of work per fortnight, operating under a varied roster that includes morning, evening, sleepover, and weekend shifts. The hourly pay ranges from $24.68 to $30.13 depending on your qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote independence by helping individuals with intellectual disabilities acquire daily living skills such as meal preparation and using public transportation.
- Support management of everyday routines, assisting with personal care like showering, dressing, and medication adherence.
- Encourage pursuit of personal goals and hobbies to enhance meaningful engagement.
- Assist in maintaining health and well-being through guidance on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Develop and nurture strong bonds between individuals, their families (whānau), and the wider community.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Demonstrated compassion and a people-centered mindset that prioritizes dignity and wellbeing.
- Experience in the health or disability sector supporting people with diverse needs.
- High flexibility to work across various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical capability to provide hands-on assistance.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver's license.
