About the Role

The YouTube Strategy, Analytics, and Finance team is dedicated to enhancing YouTube's value by identifying key business opportunities, guiding organizational decisions, and ensuring effective execution. The Strategy team partners directly with executive product management leaders to influence platform-wide strategic initiatives.

This role involves managing significant projects that shape YouTube's future, including responding to major industry trends like generative AI and short-form video, exploring growth avenues such as shopping and subscriptions, and supporting the creator ecosystem.

As a Strategy Associate, you will lead initiatives under the guidance of senior leaders, structuring complex problems, conducting thorough research, developing models, and analyzing data to deliver clear, executive-level recommendations. You will apply strategic expertise across diverse product and business projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Business, Partnerships, Marketing, and Sales. You will also contribute to the team’s culture and community.

Responsibilities

• Decompose complex challenges using structured frameworks and detailed action plans.
• Conduct both quantitative (financial modeling, SQL queries) and qualitative analyses (trend investigation).
• Present insights clearly and persuasively through written reports and oral presentations adapted to varied audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships and influence across teams to meet common goals.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, ownership, and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or quantitative fields such as Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years of experience in management consulting or equivalent business strategy roles.
• Demonstrated analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience presenting and influencing at various organizational levels including executives.
• Skills in financial modeling, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Background in technology or media industries.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, financial modeling expertise, and presentation skills.
• Proven business judgment with a record of impactful contributions to large-scale strategy projects.

Additional Information

Applicants may select their preferred workplace location between San Bruno, CA, and New York, NY.

Compensation ranges from approximately $118,000 to $169,000 annually (USD) plus a 15% target bonus, equity, and benefits, with exact pay determined by individual skills, experience, and education.
