Steward I

Role Overview

The Steward position involves crucial back-of-house food and beverage support duties including dishwashing, deep cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, along with executing various ancillary tasks. Stewards play a key role in maintaining a sanitary and safe workplace, managing inventory for food and beverage supplies, and occasionally engaging with guests. This role provides significant exposure to proper equipment cleaning and operation covering devices such as steamers, ovens, mixers, grills, and dishwashers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, secure, and welcoming kitchen environment continuously
• Complete all assigned opening and closing side tasks as needed
• Keep storage rooms and refrigeration units impeccably clean and organized
• Strictly adhere to food safety protocols and company standards for food quality
• Document daily time and temperature controls to comply with HACCP standards
• Maintain a positive attitude during high-pressure conditions
• Efficiently operate dishwashing machinery including setup, loading, running, and unloading clean items
• Regularly clean dishwashing equipment, including frequent filter maintenance
• Accurately stock clean dishes on designated shelves for reuse
• Replenish food and beverage outlets as required
• Manually clean pots and pans thoroughly
• Keep kitchen floors consistently swept and mopped
• Dispose of trash properly and maintain cleanliness of dumpster locations
• Report hazards or unsafe practices to management immediately
• Comply with all safety, security, emergency, and energy conservation policies
• Maintain punctuality and dress in full uniform for all shifts

Note: The position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking. Use of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
