Role Purpose
The State Head for Business Development is responsible for identifying and growing retail outlet presence within the designated zone. This includes overseeing outlet development timelines to meet Letter of Allocation (LOA) commitments and facilitating prompt commissioning during the growth phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Set annual business plan (ABP) goals and align divisional strategy.
- Define sales objectives across Motor Spirit (MS), High-Speed Diesel (HSD), Lubricants (Lubes), and Non-Fuel Revenue (NFR) streams.
- Drive implementation of budgeted plans and accelerate retail outlet commissioning through collaboration with Territory Sales Managers and teams.
- Coordinate zonal marketing efforts and spearhead branding initiatives to enhance market presence.
- Lead NFR promotional activities across divisions.
- Ensure all retail outlets fully comply with company standardization criteria.
- Engage in selection and development of high-visibility and flagship retail locations, ensuring timely launch.
- Motivate and retain field personnel while managing performance and addressing underachievement proactively.
- Safeguard legal integrity by ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation for franchise agreements.
- Facilitate government liaison for mandatory approvals and maintain cooperation with Oil Marketing Company (OMC) staff to ensure smooth supply chain operations from depots.
- Ensure divisional adherence to all relevant statutory regulations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background should be Graduate Engineer or post-graduate degree in Marketing Management.
- Extensive experience of over 22 years in the petroleum marketing sector and retail operations.
