ملازمت کی تفصیل

Role overview

An opportunity is available for a committed Registered Nurse to join the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences at the Devonshire Unit Neuro Rehabilitation ward in Stockport. The unit has 18 beds and supports patients through specialist neurological rehabilitation. The Devonshire Unit is currently based in Stockport and is scheduled to become part of the Northern Care Alliance from 1 March 2026.

What the ward does

The nursing team works in close partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to help patients progress through rehabilitation. Care on the ward includes patients with acquired brain injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and prolonged disorders of consciousness. The role also involves supporting complex discharge planning alongside allied health professionals and discharge colleagues.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a neuro rehabilitation setting.
  • Support patients with ongoing rehabilitation needs throughout their recovery journey.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
  • Assist with complex discharge planning in partnership with AHP and discharge planning colleagues.
  • Contribute to specialist care for patients with neurological and spinal conditions.

Candidate profile

The trust is looking for an adult nurse who brings strong interpersonal ability, a clear commitment to excellent standards of care, genuine compassion for patients and relatives, and a team-focused approach to working with all members of the MDT.

Training and development

Successful applicants will be supported by dedicated training professionals and will have access to a broad range of learning opportunities and modern facilities, including seminar rooms, an IT suite, a library, skills laboratories, and an on-site simulation suite. CPD opportunities are also available to support career development.

New starters will receive a full induction, classroom-based teaching, and clinical skills assessment. Newly qualified nurses will also join a 12-month preceptorship programme supported by the Practice Development Team. Ongoing guidance is available from senior nursing staff and highly specialised nurses.

Benefits and working environment

Along with the Band 5 salary, the role includes access to salary sacrifice schemes, health and wellbeing initiatives, flexible working options, and an on-site nursery. The organisation also offers a supportive working environment, annual leave benefits, protected time for health and wellbeing activities, and opportunities to develop a rewarding career within a large NHS trust.
