The Coombe Hospital is seeking applications for a Staff Midwife to join its multidisciplinary team in a major teaching hospital setting. The role focuses on delivering a safe, effective, and high-standard midwifery service for women, babies, and families.

Essential profile

The successful candidate must be a Registered Midwife (RM) who is currently active on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) register. The role also calls for familiarity with the healthcare frameworks and standards relevant to maternity care, including maternity strategy, HIQA standards, the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), child protection, applicable health and safety regulations, national strategies, health promotion for childbearing mothers and families, and clinical governance and risk management.

In addition, the post requires professional understanding of maternity care models, research, clinical audit, the regulatory role and publications of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, and midwifery or nursing education programmes.
