Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer specialized in US Healthcare data to create, optimize, and maintain SQL-based solutions that support clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience reporting. This remote role involves designing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and other database objects to deliver accurate and actionable information for various reports, dashboards, integrations, and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain SQL queries, views, functions, stored procedures, tables, and scripts for reporting and analytics.
- Create and sustain SQL-based extracts, transformations, and load processes supporting EHR, revenue cycle, financial, operational, and third-party data.
- Implement and maintain data validation, reconciliation, exception handling, and audit checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Optimize SQL queries, joins, indexes, and stored procedures to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Document SQL code, business logic, source-to-target mappings, and data definitions to facilitate maintenance and repeatable reporting.
- Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, application teams, and stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into reliable SQL solutions.
- Troubleshoot data issues, conduct root cause analyses, and coordinate corrective actions across data sources and reporting layers.
- Support production reports, scheduled jobs, data refreshes, deployments, incident responses, and ongoing SQL asset maintenance.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to automate SQL processes, reduce technical debt, and improve report delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in SQL development, database programming, reporting support, data analysis, ETL scripting, or BI data delivery.
- Expertise in advanced SQL techniques such as complex joins, window functions, common table expressions, stored procedures, functions, temporary tables, query tuning, indexing, and performance debugging.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure SQL, SQL Agent jobs, or similar database platforms.
- Proficient with data extracts, flat files, database queries, incremental loads, scheduled jobs, and batch processing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with healthcare data, revenue cycle data, clinical operations, and multi-site healthcare environments.
- Awareness of healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR is beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Git, DevOps workflows, Power BI, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, dbt, Python, or other Azure data services.
Additional Information
