You will be part of the EEMA Client Service Risk team based in Nairobi, Kenya. The team supports client impact and innovation while managing risk exposures to clients, employees, and the firm. Colleagues hail from diverse professional backgrounds such as communications, consulting, government, and law, collaborating globally to advise on risks throughout client engagement lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert risk consultation to support McKinsey's leading work and shape a world-class risk management program.
• Deliver timely, high-quality risk support to senior leadership and governance bodies for high-risk engagements.
• Lead risk advisory efforts for consultant groups, sectors, or sub-regions within EEMA, developing domain-specific expertise.
• Offer strategic and integrative risk advice tailored to addressing complex issues faced by public sector, state-linked, healthcare, and social sector clients in EEMA.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Communications, Finance, Legal, and various organizational units to counsel on multifaceted risk concerns.
• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor among senior colleagues and support implementation of regional risk strategies, potentially contributing to global policy and operational initiatives.
• Promote risk policy awareness and compliance engagement across the firm within the EEMA region.
• Contribute to an inclusive culture focused on performance, development, and well-being by actively providing and receiving feedback.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• Bachelor’s degree demonstrating intellectual curiosity through advanced degrees, professional training, or impactful experience.
• At least four years of professional experience in fields such as risk management, international affairs, diplomacy, geopolitics, government, communications, law, consulting, media, public policy, or public affairs.
• Exceptional judgment and integrity combined with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work effectively within a diverse, global team.
• Strong analytical abilities, issue identification, and problem-solving capabilities with experience handling complex and sensitive matters.
• Proven interpersonal and influence skills to build trust-based relationships at senior levels.
• Solid project management experience.
• Able to thrive in a fast-moving environment and manage uncertainty confidently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
