Solution Architect

Opportunity Overview

Ericsson is inviting applications for the role of Cloud Infrastructure Solution Architect within its cloud delivery team. This role involves working with Ericsson's cloud platforms such as CNIS, NFVI, and OMC that support network solutions. The position focuses on bridging business requirements with technical implementations, improving processes, and enabling data-driven decisions across the organization. You will collaborate with diverse teams to analyze, prepare, implement, and validate the setup and integration of Ericsson Cloud Solutions across various project phases including introduction, upgrades, expansions, and capacity adjustments.

Location and Regional Scope

This position is primarily based in Kampala, Uganda. Candidates located in Algeria, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Tunisia are also eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

• Define, scope, and design solution offerings and support integration of Ericsson and optionally third-party cloud solutions.
• Analyze customer technologies, identify business needs, and participate in risk assessments.
• Create technical presentations and proposals, and lead customer workshops and presentations.
• Plan and execute configuration, integration, migration, system testing, and acceptance testing of products.
• Support solution deployment and follow-up activities post-project.
• Provide feedback to research and development, contribute to documentation, and share knowledge.
• Keep up with emerging technologies to enhance customer capabilities.
• Drive continuous delivery process improvements.
• Occasionally assist in pre-sales activities including pre-studies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or IT; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 7 years of service delivery experience in the telecom sector.
• At least 5 years in cloud deployment roles, including minimum 2 years as a Solution Architect.
• Demonstrated experience managing stakeholders and gathering requirements effectively.
• Strong working knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes is mandatory.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with infrastructure fundamentals including networking, storage, and container technologies.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and various storage solutions; familiarity with third-party hardware vendors like Dell, HP, Lenovo.
• Proficient in Linux system administration.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills capable of explaining complex technical issues clearly.
• Able to perform under pressure within customer-facing engagements.
• Willing to travel up to 30% as required by the business.
