Overview
The Senior Supervisor Balancing role is a pivotal position entrusted with directing and managing balancing projects, including scanning and laser alignment services, predominantly focused on rotors for rotating machinery. This leadership role blends individual technical contributions with team management to drive growth in aftermarket balancing services while ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop divisional strategies aligned with organizational plans to foster growth of balancing and reverse engineering services.
- Prepare and report regular updates and presentations to senior managers regarding operations, challenges, financials, and project statuses.
- Conduct independent low-speed balancing, run-out measurements, and comprehensive technical reporting aligned with industrial standards.
- Perform dynamic, static, and trim balancing of various rotating equipment including turbines, compressors, and motors, using advanced vibration analysis and balancing systems.
- Lead onsite assembly and commissioning of mobile rotor lathes and coordinate machining teams ensuring safe and precise operations.
- Execute laser alignment tasks alongside engineers, providing detailed measurement reports adhering to industry tolerances.
- Manage direct reports and subcontractors, fostering staff development through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Oversee financial aspects of projects including budgeting, cost monitoring, and profit optimization.
- Plan and lead outage operations, ensuring alignment with schedules, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain customer relationships, ensure service order maximization, and manage asset calibration and maintenance readiness.
- Support field services during outages by providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Implement and monitor SAP and Integrated Management Systems processes to maintain data and operational integrity.
- Ensure compliance with information security policies and manage resource access controls effectively.
- Promote continuous improvement through identification and application of innovative technological methods in balancing and related services.
Additional Details
This position reports administratively to the Senior Manager, Project Re-Engineering, and functionally to the Head of Reverse Engineering and Head of OSIS. The role supervises 0 to 3 direct staff members and is key to achieving organizational business objectives. The role demands a blend of management, technical traction, and hands-on expertise to lead all phases of balancing activities.

The incumbent ensures full compliance with relevant health, safety, security, and environmental policies to guarantee a safe working environment and responsible environmental management during projects and outages.
Relationship Management
Establishes and maintains effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, including those with project managers, contractors, OEM partners, and local authorities, upholding strict business ethics and facilitating smooth operations.
