Role Overview

The Account Intelligence team defends against fraud and malicious automation by managing vast traffic volumes, approximately a billion requests per day. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will influence the team’s technical vision by architecting new systems that distinguish genuine users from attackers. Your involvement will span beyond traditional application layers, contributing to design discussions and collaborating closely with multiple teams including engineering, research, and product to enhance detection systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of greenfield systems within Account Intelligence, from data modeling through deployment.
• Develop features for Kasada's leading product focusing on backend and data-rich systems.
• Guide architecture conversations internally and cross-team, articulating design rationales and aligning collaborative efforts.
• Build highly scalable, low-latency solutions that handle millions of requests per minute.
• Mentor engineering peers, elevating technical and design capabilities across teams.
• Participate in feature design and collaborate closely with product and engineering departments.

• Node.js
• TypeScript
• Databases including Postgres, Redis, Clickhouse
• AWS ecosystem: Kubernetes, Lambda, S3, EC2

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience tackling backend development challenges; Node.js and TypeScript familiarity desirable.
• Strong expertise in data modeling and working with diverse storage technologies including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proven skills designing system architectures from scratch based on product requirements.
• Solid understanding of AWS services and containerized environments.
• Experience with building scalable architectures and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated ability in mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills capable of explaining complex technical topics to non-expert audiences.
