Senior School Support Officer – School Network

About the Role

This position is field-based in Uganda, requiring approximately 80% travel, and reports directly to the School Improvement Supervisor. The Senior School Support Officer will contribute to the Mastercard Foundation – Leaders in Teaching project by enhancing school quality and driving improvements throughout secondary schools in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support school inspections and development of School Improvement Plans (SIPs).
• Provide coaching and mentoring support to school leaders and education inspectors.
• Track and monitor progress related to School Improvement Plans.
• Conduct training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for education stakeholders.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, and overall project implementation activities.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree in Education or an equivalent discipline.
• Demonstrate experience in school leadership or education management roles.
• Have detailed knowledge of Uganda’s education system and school inspection procedures.
• Exhibit strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Be prepared for frequent travel to various schools and communities.

Additional Information

The role is full-time and based on-site within Uganda. PEAS emphasizes the safeguarding and welfare promotion of children and young people throughout all its activities.
