About the Role

We are currently seeking a talented Senior or Associate Earthing Engineer to join our specialized consultancy team based in New Zealand or Australia. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside respected experts and contribute to diverse projects across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally. Key Responsibilities
- Perform earthing studies and design tasks encompassing Earthing & Bonding, Lightning Performance, Earth Potential Rise (EPR), Low Frequency Induction (LFI), Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF), and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
- Lead or assist in producing top-quality technical deliverables by utilizing software like CDEGS and PSCAD.
- Serve as a technical lead by reviewing and validating work to ensure quality and technical excellence.
- Support business development efforts by collaborating with Client Account Managers to win new projects.
- Provide mentorship and skill development support to junior engineers, helping to strengthen the team's capabilities in earthing and electromagnetic studies.
- Carry out site visits and testing, including soil resistivity measurement, current injection tests, and EMF/EMI monitoring.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Section Leaders to deliver technically sound and commercially viable projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships across public and private sectors.
- Although team leadership is not mandatory, candidates with leadership experience may undertake responsibilities such as workload distribution, staff coaching, onboarding, and fostering team engagement for about 10–15% of their role.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Has experience conducting earthing studies in sectors including substations, transmission, rail, water, mining, airports, industrial operations, or other critical infrastructure.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software tools such as CDEGS and PSCAD.
- Possesses strong technical writing abilities, effective communication to stakeholders, and report preparation experience.
- Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining quality standards and managing risks effectively.
- Experienced in mentoring junior engineers and fostering teamwork.
- Exhibits a collaborative approach, capable of working across globally distributed teams.
- Willing to perform fieldwork, including site inspections and testing activities.
- Leadership or people management expertise is advantageous but not required, with opportunities to support team coordination and development across the Australia-New Zealand region.
