Senior ICT/ELV Engineer - Data Center

Overview

The Senior ICT/ELV Engineer will oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and IT infrastructure systems for critical data center projects located in Qatar. This role involves coordination across various teams to ensure delivery aligns with stringent quality and compliance standards.

Primary Duties

• Manage and supervise ELV and ICT system installations and integrations.
• Conduct detailed reviews of structured cabling, fiber optics, data halls, and network room construction.
• Oversee deployment of security solutions such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
• Facilitate the integration of ELV systems with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms.
• Examine technical documents, including drawings, specifications, material submissions, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Ensure all implementations comply with approved design specifications, project requirements, and ANSI/TIA-942 standards.
• Coordinate integration points between ELV/ICT and electrical, mechanical, architectural, security, and other data center systems.
• Monitor installation quality, schedule adherence, safety standards, and contractor performance rigorously.
• Identify and resolve installation challenges through coordination of corrective measures.
• Lead testing, commissioning, and system integration efforts.
• Review and validate testing outcomes, as-built documentation, operation manuals, and handover materials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Mandatory accreditation as a Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS).
• Registration with UPDA/MMUP in Qatar is preferred.
• Preferred certifications include BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Cisco CCNA or CCNP, and Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP).
• A minimum of 12 years relevant professional experience overall, with at least 5 years dedicated to data center projects.
• Proven expertise in mission-critical ICT and ELV infrastructure deployment.
• In-depth knowledge of structured cabling systems and fiber optic network design.
• Experience managing environments such as data halls, network rooms, and telecommunication spaces.
• Hands-on experience with CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection system implementations.
• Familiarity with integrating ELV systems into BMS and DCIM platforms.
• Strong understanding of ANSI/TIA-942 standards.
• Experience in technical document review and contractor supervision.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
