About the Role
Join Parsons in Qatar as a Senior Electrical Engineer on our Construction Supervision Consultant team, contributing to a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment project. This development features immersive entertainment experiences, top-tier hospitality, premium retail outlets, and a variety of leisure attractions.
You'll oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of a diverse range of electrical systems including medium and low voltage power distributions, substations, emergency power, ride and show power, entertainment lighting, audiovisual infrastructure, low-current systems, show controls, and other themed entertainment-specific installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supervision of electrical construction activities ensuring adherence to contractual documents, IFC drawings, and industry standards.
- Ensure contractor compliance with quality standards, construction approaches, schedules, and health and safety procedures.
- Review technical submissions such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and inspection requests.
- Manage integration and installation of MV/LV distribution systems, substations, transformers, UPS, lighting, emergency power, earthing and lightning protection systems, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Supervise specialized themed entertainment electrical systems including ride and show power, control power, entertainment lighting, audiovisual and show control systems.
- Coordinate interfaces between electrical systems and architectural, mechanical, fire & life safety, ICT, ride systems, vendor installations, and utility providers.
- Participate in inspections, Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, functional and integrated systems testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance.
- Identify and manage non-conforming works and coordinate corrective actions.
- Assist in evaluating variations, technical clarifications, and site instructions related to electrical works.
- Collaborate with operators, suppliers, manufacturers, and commissioning teams to ensure successful system integration and readiness.
- Engage in snagging, substantial completion, handover, and defects liability period inspections.
- Review as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning records, warranties, and ensure completeness and compliance.
- Prepare and submit technical reports, inspection logs, progress updates, and recommendations to project management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Professional engineer credentials such as PE or Chartered Engineer preferred.
- At least 12 years’ experience managing electrical works on major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.
- Proven track record in Construction Supervision or Resident Engineering on large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Experienced supervising electrical systems for themed entertainment venues like theme parks, integrated resorts, and attractions.
- Strong background in power distribution systems, emergency power, lighting, low-current and audiovisual infrastructure.
- Experienced in testing, commissioning, integrated systems validation, operational readiness, and project handover phases.
- GCC region experience is highly advantageous.
Preferred Expertise
- Deep understanding of electrical engineering systems, contract compliance, and construction supervision in large-scale developments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MV/LV power, emergency systems, earthing, lightning protection, and specialist entertainment electrical installations.
- Expertise in coordinating ride power, show power, control power, entertainment lighting, audiovisual and show control systems.
- Familiar with construction inspections, material approval processes, shop drawing reviews, and commissioning protocols.
- Strong capability in multidisciplinary coordination among contractors, vendors, manufacturers, operators, and commissioning teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documents including IFC drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks focusing on quality, safety, schedule, and compliance.
- Adept at working in complex construction environments emphasizing engineering excellence and operational success.
