Role Overview
The Scrum Master role involves leading product and engineering teams to deliver efficiently by applying agile methods, facilitating collaboration, and continuously improving delivery processes. This servant-leadership position focuses on enabling agile practices, fostering teamwork, and enhancing predictability without managing product direction or personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance agile ceremonies to maximize team outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Coach teams individually and collectively on agile principles to boost collaboration and accountability.
- Promote pragmatic agile adoption beyond procedural compliance.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and transparent delivery management.
- Identify and resolve impediments promptly, facilitating smooth workflow and realistic capacity planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on delivery metrics and retrospective actions.
- Maintain team health by minimizing distractions and fostering open communication.
- Provide clear status updates and risk communications to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure agile tools like Jira reflect accurate and transparent project progress.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven track record as Scrum Master in cross-functional software teams.
- Expertise in Scrum, Kanban, or blended agile methods with focus on enhancing delivery efficiency.
- Skilled in agile coaching, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution.
- Experience using Jira or similar tools for workflow and reporting transparency.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and impediment removal.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative abilities.
- Ability to influence teams without formal authority and maintain composure under pressure.
- Willingness to understand healthcare or medtech regulated environments.
- Experience in startup or scaling companies advantageous.
