About Malt
Malt is Europe's largest freelance marketplace that unites over 1,000,000 freelancers with more than 100,000 companies. Established in 2013, Malt is redefining work through a technology-driven yet human-focused platform. The company boasts a workforce of 600 employees across six European nations and embraces an inclusive culture with gender equality in leadership. Supported by renowned investors, Malt's mission is to empower everyone with the freedom to work differently.
Role Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) for the Enterprise DACH segment will be at the forefront of Malt's growth in the European freelance economy. This hands-on position requires crafting and executing targeted outbound campaigns to acquire substantial new enterprise clients. The SDR will collaborate closely with Enterprise Account Executives (AEs) to generate top-of-funnel growth, focusing on high-value accounts and maintaining a disciplined, metric-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high-volume, multi-channel outbound outreach targeting 10-15 large Focus Accounts quarterly using cold calls, customized emails, and LinkedIn.
- Create a localized and effective outbound system that regularly engages key stakeholders within enterprise clients.
- Conduct thorough discovery calls employing the Pain, Urgency, and Fit framework to qualify leads and deliver compelling ROI presentations.
- Overcome early objections proactively to secure high-quality prospects ready for deeper engagement.
- Collaborate closely with assigned AEs to ensure seamless handoffs and maintain comprehensive, accurate Salesforce records to safeguard pipeline integrity.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of intense outbound-focused experience in SaaS or technology sales, demonstrating persistence and skill in cold calling.
- Ability to clearly communicate intricate value propositions in fast-moving sales environments.
- Native proficiency in German along with advanced English language skills.
Skills and Development Opportunities
- Expertise in mapping organizational structures within large enterprises.
- Utilizing data-driven and automated multi-channel outreach tools and CRM management, particularly Salesforce.
- Clear progression path toward Senior SDR or Account Executive roles within the company.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Possesses an aggressive hunter mindset and thrives on the challenges of cold outreach.
- Exhibits strong ownership over assigned accounts, treating them as personal priorities.
- Motivated by clear quantitative KPIs and eager to grow into an enterprise sales closer role.
This role is not suited to candidates expecting warm inbound leads or those reluctant to engage in high-velocity, high-pressure sales activities.
Onboarding and Work Conditions
- Initial training will include an immersive week in Paris focused on company culture, products, and services alongside other new hires.
- The position supports a hybrid remote schedule: three days in the office and two days working from home weekly.
- Annual paid leave totals 30 days, with an additional paid sabbatical month after three years of employment.
- Employees are eligible for stock options as part of their compensation package.
- Daily lunch vouchers valued at €6.50 for 15 days monthly are provided.
- Offices in Munich and Berlin are dog-friendly.
- Choice of benefits includes transportation reimbursement, gym membership, organic food vouchers, or mobility app credits.
- Free company-paid book orders are available for learning on topics relevant to Malt's business without bureaucratic hurdles.
Recruitment Process
- Initial 45-minute screening call assessing background and motivation with the Talent Acquisition Lead.
- Detailed 45-60 minute interview with future manager focused on sales techniques and resilience.
- Completion of a practical assignment simulating prospecting and pitching skills, evaluated by management team members.
- Final interview with senior leadership exploring long-term growth and fit within Malt's commercial goals.
Diversity and Inclusion Commitment
Malt is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, hiring without discrimination based on any personal characteristic and ensuring a supportive environment where all employees can excel.
