Role Overview

Work Environment and Schedule

This role is based onsite in Perranporth, England, and requires flexibility to work night shifts. Additionally, you should be able to travel to and provide support to nearby Amazon sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits across the site.
• Observe and ensure site operations comply with Amazon’s established safety protocols.
• Prepare and maintain detailed safety metric reports for review by colleagues.
• Collaborate with Operations personnel and other business units on safety-related initiatives, providing guidance on safety procedures.
• Assist in implementing new safety policies and measures to enhance workplace safety.

Typical Day

Stationed on-site, you will monitor daily activities closely and serve as a key resource for employees seeking safety guidance during their shifts. Proactively identifying potential hazards before they occur is a significant aspect of your work. By thoroughly understanding equipment usage and operational workflows, you will recommend and help establish safer work processes. Your role also includes supporting Operations with various on-demand safety tasks and playing a pivotal part in collecting and disseminating safety data to ensure continual improvement in safety standards.

About the Workplace Health and Safety Team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is dedicated to maintaining both physical and mental well-being at work by ensuring compliance with Amazon policies and legal requirements. The team collaborates with various stakeholders including managers, associates, and regulatory bodies to uphold high safety and wellness benchmarks. Opportunities within the team include diverse projects related to safety inspections, risk assessments, and site designs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Health and Safety NVQ Level 3, NEBOSH National General Certificate, or equivalent certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• A valid UK Driver's License.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders via written and oral presentations.
• Experience working both autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
