Operating three retail outlets, Raben Footwear also distributes products to various retail businesses throughout Sydney suburbs and the wider New South Wales region.
Position Overview
Raben Footwear is in search of a proactive and seasoned Retail Buyer. This role involves identifying, selecting, and purchasing product lines essential for the company's retail and wholesale branches. The role demands maintaining excellent supplier relations and playing a strategic role in fostering business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director to formulate yearly purchasing strategies and budget allocations aligned with retail and wholesale objectives.
- Create and manage purchasing timelines and operational plans based on seasonal demand forecasts and budget constraints.
- Evaluate sales data, inventory levels, and market trends by monitoring trade publications and supplier updates to remain agile in a dynamic market.
- Represent the company at international trade exhibitions, notably the Canton Fair in China, and engage in contract negotiations with manufacturers to secure competitive product quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Conduct comprehensive research on products and vendors to optimize value, quality, and supply logistics, negotiating agreements for purchasing and promotions.
- Analyze consumer buying trends and market requirements to accurately determine product assortment, quality, and volume needs.
- Foster robust partnerships with current suppliers while exploring new supplier options to enhance the retail and wholesale offerings.
- Design and apply strategies for pricing, marketing, promotions, and product displays aimed at boosting sales and profits.
- Implement stock management systems to maintain optimal inventory, reducing costs while fulfilling operational needs.
- Provide regular reports to the Director covering procurement progress, supplier evaluations, and related operational insights.
Candidate Qualifications
- Must hold qualifications at least equivalent to an AQF Diploma.
- Possess a minimum of one year local experience relevant to retail or wholesale sectors.
- Experience specifically within the footwear retail and wholesale market in Australia is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the Australian footwear market dynamics.
- Be proficient in both English and Chinese languages.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for business, including visiting trade fairs and supplier factories.
Salary
Annual remuneration ranges from 80000 to 83000 AUD.
