Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking to add a Restaurant Utility Worker to its team in Baxley, GA. This role helps keep the restaurant clean, safe, and in good working order, with responsibilities that include routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and preventive maintenance for both the building and equipment.

What you will do

• Complete all training required by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, sanitary, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks, along with basic upkeep of the restaurant.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on restaurant equipment.
• Check, run, and test equipment to identify issues and malfunctions.
• Handle minor lighting repairs.
• Perform general cleaning work, including deep cleaning and pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and apply equipment manuals and work orders as needed.
• Inspect the grounds, plumbing, electrical outlets and fixtures, kitchen equipment, and the building for maintenance concerns.
• Complete basic repairs when needed.
• Follow safety procedures, operating instructions, and related manuals and laws.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs.
• Follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Work safely at all times and follow required safety practices.
• Stay flexible and take on additional tasks beyond the core role when needed.
• Report human resources and risk management concerns to the General Manager and District Manager right away.
• Raise other issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
• Handle any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations running properly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Must be available to work 32 to 40 hours per week for a full-time schedule.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Should demonstrate leadership ability, organization, and a cooperative approach to working with others.

Physical and workplace demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for continuous periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb occasionally, including ladder use.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Continuous hand and wrist use for gripping and detailed manual tasks.
• Must be able to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing.
• Need strong visual and audio awareness to observe surroundings and respond appropriately.
• Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures as well as food and outdoor allergens.
• Must be able to safely operate restaurant tools and equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous machinery.
