Restaurant Assistant Manager

About the Role

This position supports the Restaurant Manager (RM) in managing daily restaurant operations and leads the team in the RM's absence. The Restaurant Assistant Manager (RAM) is responsible for coaching staff, maintaining standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction aligned with Company and Brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service with a friendly and swift approach while guiding and correcting team members.
• Conduct second-round interviews for hiring new team members and shift leads.
• Oversee cleanliness by performing housekeeping duties and delegating shift tasks with follow-up.
• Ensure all food preparation and service meet Brand, Company, and health department standards, coaching employees accordingly.
• Communicate updated information and assist in new product training for staff.
• Manage placement of promotional campaign materials when requested.
• Ensure product quality, food safety, and operational standards are adhered to.
• Monitor accuracy of cash handling, sales records, and inventory throughout shifts; complete required paperwork and report discrepancies.
• In the RM's absence, perform administrative duties such as paperwork, inventory counts, cash counts, and ordering supplies.
• Maintain a safe environment by complying with relevant laws and safety regulations.
• Complete incident reports promptly following company policy.
• Collaborate with RM to meet financial and operational goals, contributing to restaurant profitability.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be available full time across all operating hours, including at least one hour before opening and after closing.
• Possess a valid state Driver’s License.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate and coach team members effectively.
• Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a positive, energetic attitude.
• Ability to manage stress and maintain urgency as situations demand.
• Effective collaborator and capable of working independently.
• Physical requirements include frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, standing, and walking; occasional ladder use; tolerance for hot and cold environments; and handling kitchen equipment safely.
• Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50+ lbs occasionally.
