Role Overview
We are seeking a Research and Development Scientist to join our product development team at our Lyde Green, Bristol facility. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, this role focuses on advancing our core carbon-negative wallboard technology and establishing analytical chemistry capabilities to ensure our products meet global standards for low carbon emissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and adapt our core technology for integration with existing plasterboard manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create product formulations compliant with international regulations, reducing carbon footprint in construction materials.
- Build and refine analytical chemistry processes to support product development.
- Design and execute laboratory test campaigns using data-driven approaches and lean Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies.
- Develop new testing procedures and analyze datasets critically alongside practical observations.
- Work independently and in teams to manage projects from conception through to completion fostering internal and external collaboration.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in plasterboard, gypsum-based products, or related building materials industries.
- Knowledge of product formulation techniques for building materials optimization.
- Background in chemistry or quality assurance with hands-on laboratory experience, combining academic and industry insight.
- A proactive and detail-oriented mindset capable of managing both analytical and experimental work to deliver actionable results.

Terms and Conditions
- Permanent, full-time position at 37 hours per week with a flexible schedule (core hours 10am-4pm).
- Annual leave includes 25 days plus bank holidays and an additional day on your birthday.
