About the Role

The position of Relief Dispenser involves providing support within various stores across a specified geographical area in the UK. As a vital member of the pharmacy team, you will assist pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure pharmacy and healthcare services are delivered safely and efficiently.

Working in the store's healthcare section, you will develop strong connections with patients by attentively listening and understanding their needs. Tasks include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring safe medication sales, and leveraging your healthcare knowledge to offer advice that helps patients make informed health decisions. This role is UK-based; remote applications or those from outside the UK without proper qualifications and work rights will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispensing prescriptions accurately with a focus on the safe supply of medicines, including ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals in-store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Advising patients on medication use and referring inquiries to pharmacists when necessary.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain the legal and safe dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Keeping updated with new store initiatives and adhering to operational processes.
  • Helping patients manage their prescriptions and medications efficiently to encourage adherence and minimize waste.
  • Communicating with store teams to ensure consistent and continuous patient care.
  • Utilizing evolving pharmacy technologies and new systems to improve dispensing processes and patient safety, allowing more patient engagement time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent credential.
  • Capability to travel flexibly within the designated geographic area.
  • Valid UK right to work; candidates requiring Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship are not eligible.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.

This position is part-time and requires presence at store locations; remote work is not available. Pre-employment checks including DBS, PVG, or Access NI will be conducted according to location.
