Regulatory Affairs Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Government & Public Policy Specialist to join us on an hourly contract basis. This remote position offers a compensation range of $50 to $60 per hour with a flexible commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will contribute their hands-on experience to design realistic public-sector scenarios and tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop authentic regulatory work products such as rule texts and compliance evaluations.
• Create procurement and contracting exercises based on practical experience.
• Formulate program and grants management assignments involving application assessments and performance tracking.
• Prepare budget and appropriations materials, including cost justifications and estimates.
• Compose legislative affairs documents such as bill analyses and testimony support.
• Assess and grade AI-generated content for correctness and adherence to procedures.
• Provide clear written justifications for evaluating AI outputs and collaborate on improving evaluation rubrics.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated substantial experience in government, public policy, or regulatory affairs roles.
• Background in federal, state, local, tribal, or closely related agency functions is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in policy analysis, rulemaking, procurement, program management, budgeting, or legislative processes.
• Solid understanding of administrative procedures and managing stakeholder interactions.
• Excellent written communication skills tailored for decision-makers.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to critically assess others' work.
• A related degree or professional credential is preferred but not mandatory.
