Position Overview

SprintRay is advancing the field of digital dentistry by offering a unique end-to-end 3D printing solution that integrates innovative technology, advanced materials, clinical education, and dedicated customer support. We are seeking a hands-on R&D Engineer focused on Materials to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This role involves developing, testing, and scaling cutting-edge photopolymer resins crucial to our 3D printing platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovate and formulate new 3D printing resins and photopolymer systems tailored for digital dental applications.
  • Perform manufacturing, characterization, and testing of polymer resins to set standards for future dental product offerings.
  • Translate R&D resin formulations into scalable production processes and continuously improve resin manufacturability.
  • Optimize resin parameters and establish material standards ensuring quality, usability, and print consistency.
  • Document R&D activities through analysis, summarization, and reporting of collected data.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization, ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Analyze user experience data statistically to enhance product reliability and features.
  • Identify major product failure causes and assist quality assurance with manufacturing insights to minimize costs.
  • Oversee mechanical workshop functionality and manage R&D inventory levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience in developing, manufacturing, characterizing, and testing polymer or photopolymer resin systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of photopolymerization chemistry, resin formulation, and additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Hands-on skills in materials characterization, experimental design, and laboratory testing.
  • Competency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support sound technical decisions.
  • Understanding of polymer science including structure-to-property relationships.
  • Preferred experience with dental materials, additive manufacturing, or medical device sectors.
  • Background in process development, optimization, and continuous improvements.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a methodical, data-driven problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and dedication to producing accurate, quality work.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience collaborating across diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced research and development environments.

Additional Information
