Job description

Role Overview

A leading client in County Kerry is seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to oversee financial and contractual management across specialized sports construction and civil engineering projects ongoing at various Irish locations. This is a permanent full-time role focused on managing the entire project lifecycle from tendering through to final account settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project budgets including cost control, forecasting, cash flow, and margin analysis.
  • Prepare valuations, payment requests, variation orders, and final account documentation.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, contractual documents, and scope of works.
  • Quantify materials and services, generate cost estimates, and participate in tender preparation.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage procurement activities and monitor subcontractor commercial performance.
  • Track project expenditures relative to authorized budgets to ensure financial compliance.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, implementing cost-saving initiatives where feasible.
  • Maintain thorough commercial records and prepare reports as needed.
  • Assist with contract administration, including notices and commercial correspondence.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Estimators, and senior leadership teams.
  • Represent the company in client, subcontractor, and internal project meetings.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 3 and 6 years' experience in commercial construction quantity surveying.
  • Possess a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Commercial Management.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost management, procurement processes, and contract administration.
  • Proven experience in handling valuations, variations, and final accounts preparation.
  • Holds a full valid driving license and is willing to travel as required.
