About the Role

Conack, a rapidly expanding construction company in Ireland renowned for delivering award-winning projects across diverse sectors, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Cork. This position involves managing the commercial aspects of significant projects spanning residential, commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors. The role encompasses oversight from pre-construction phases through to the final account, collaborating with an ambitious and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial and contractual components of construction projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts for projects.
  • Measure and value subcontractor work and prepare interim payment valuations.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and tender processes.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and finalize variations and final accounts.
  • Track project expenses, identifying opportunities to optimize value and control costs.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and forecasts for senior management review.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and Clients to facilitate successful project completion.
  • Maintain accurate commercial documentation during all project stages.
  • Contribute to delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
  • Between 3 and 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying capacity within the construction sector.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, healthcare, and industrial construction projects.
  • Sound knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and commercial management software.
  • Experience managing construction projects within Ireland.
