Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor position is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai. The incumbent will be accountable for preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation specifically for civil engineering projects. Daily duties involve evaluating drawings and specifications, performing site measurements, tracking project costs, and validating contractor and supplier invoices. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and site teams is essential to ensure budget adherence, variation tracking, and accurate financial reporting. Supporting value engineering, assisting procurement planning, and contributing to contract administration and final account settlements are integral parts of this role.
Candidate Qualifications
- Solid foundation in Civil Engineering and its design aspects, including proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and project specs.
- Knowledgeable in land surveying methods applicable to quantity take-offs and site measurements.
- Experienced with CAD tools for reviewing plans and extracting quantities.
- Strong communication abilities for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or an allied field.
- Prior experience in quantity surveying for building or civil works, ideally within the UAE market.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate cost calculation.
- Familiar with standard contract forms, cost control techniques, and industry best practices.
- Availability and capability to work full-time on-site in Dubai, effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines.
