Role Overview
We are looking for a full-time Quantity Surveyor to be based onsite in Dar es Salaam. This role involves preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conducting detailed cost estimations, and supporting cost planning during project lifecycles. Key duties include overseeing project budgets, monitoring expenditure, generating cost reports, and advising the project team on potential cost risks and opportunities. The position requires close cooperation with engineers, project managers, and procurement specialists to ensure accuracy in measurement, valuation, and contract administration. Additional responsibilities include assisting with tender preparation, evaluating contractor claims, and maintaining thorough documentation for both management and clients.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Strong capabilities in cost control and management for effective budget monitoring and financial decision support.
- Experience in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, and detailed project cost estimations.
- Skilled in producing clear, precise, and prompt financial reports related to project costs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, tender procedures, and valuation methods.
- Proficiency with relevant software such as MS Excel and specialized quantity surveying or estimating tools.
- Excellent analytical skills, numerical accuracy, clear communication, attention to detail, and organizational competency.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary on-site teams and manage multiple assignments within set deadlines.
