Job description

Role Overview

The Quality Inspector will perform detailed quality evaluations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations on Innovo project sites. The role involves ensuring that all works conform strictly to approved plans, specifications, and testing protocols.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out hold-point and routine inspections to ensure MEP installations meet quality standards.
  • Document inspection outcomes and highlight any deviations or non-compliant work.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection checklists and organized quality records for areas under responsibility.
  • Capture photographic proof and logs to substantiate inspections and non-conformance records.
  • Monitor and verify the resolution of corrective actions related to identified issues and re-check repaired work for compliance before approval.
  • Assess installation activities against approved designs, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit daily inspection summaries covering findings, issues, and pending matters to the Quality Engineer.
  • Keep updated trackers displaying the status of all quality hold points within assigned projects.
  • Promote and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and transparency.
  • Encourage creative approaches that improve quality outcomes and reduce project costs without lowering standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Preferably hold recognized certifications in quality inspection such as CSWIP, NDT, or similar trade-specific credentials.
  • Between three to five years of hands-on experience in quality inspection specifically within MEP construction projects.
  • Proven ability to perform hold-point inspections and enforce inspection and test plan requirements.
  • Experience in managing reports on non-conformance and monitoring corrective action closures.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of MEP installation standards, project specifications, and manufacturer installation procedures.
  • Familiar with quality inspection processes, hold-point protocols, and test plans.
  • Knowledgeable about quality management systems, including ISO 9001 documentation requirements.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in test reporting and documentation.
  • Skilled in digital record keeping, inspection tracking, and photographic evidence compilation.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to write clear reports and collaborate with site teams verbally.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite and digital tools for inspection reporting and management.
