Quality Control Factory Inspector

Role Overview

As a Quality Control Inspector positioned on the factory floor, you will represent Suitsupply's quality assurance team by conducting final random inspections on all ongoing production items to guarantee every garment aligns with the company's meticulous standards before dispatch. Embedded permanently within the production site, this role is key to the first phase of our model where one dedicated inspector gains deep insight into the factory's processes and its quality performance, fostering continuous enhancements through close collaboration with factory inspectors and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Conduct final random inspections (stage 5) using AQL sampling plans and Suitsupply’s specific inspection parameters.
• Assess garments in comparison to approved pre-production samples, technical packs, and workmanship benchmarks.
• Accurately classify and document defects into categories: critical, major, or minor, supported by photographic documentation.
• Review in-line QC reports from the factory to monitor early quality risks (stage 4).
• Communicate inspection findings to factory management and ensure follow-up on corrective measures.
• Regularly submit inspection summaries to the regional Quality Control Manager.
• Support defect data collection (stage 7) for factory scorecards.
• Develop strong, cooperative relationships with factory production and quality teams.
• Promptly report systemic quality or production issues to the QC Manager.
• Assist in enhancing factory capabilities as part of the phase 2 development plan.
• Compare AQL outcomes with factory self-reported AQL results to detect discrepancies.
• Evaluate AQL and factory performances periodically and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, such as lowering rework rates via technical in-line support.
• Help conduct bulk fabric inspections and report issues such as color inconsistencies.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in garment quality inspection, preferably in menswear, tailoring, or shirt manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of garment structure, typical defects, and AQL quality inspection standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical packs and garment specifications.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with the regional QC team.
• Fluent in the local language relevant to the factory location.
• Self-driven, dependable, and capable of autonomous work with minimal oversight.
• Keen eye for quality and consistency in garment workmanship.
• Impartial and thorough in defect evaluation, resisting undue factory pressures.
• Clear, precise, and detailed in documentation and reporting.
• Capable of building effective partnerships with production staff while maintaining independent judgment.
