Protection Inspector - Electrical

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Protection Inspector specializing in high-voltage electrical systems to join our client in the power industry, based in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with Kahramaa.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe and verify protection relay testing procedures and ensure correct wiring connections.
• Confirm relay settings and review the associated documentation for accuracy.
• Apply deep knowledge of busbar protection systems, differentiating between High Impedance and Low Impedance types.
• Execute tests related to busbar stability, transformer stability, overall system stability, and load straggling.
• Carry out both primary and secondary injection tests for Current Transformers (CT) and Voltage Transformers (VT) and validate related documentation.
• Accurately record, analyze, and prepare reports on all test outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in protection system inspection and testing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with Kahramaa operations is highly advantageous.
• Ability to interpret complex protection schemes, electrical drawings, and test reports.
