With a team of more than 24,000 employees, the company supports New Zealanders in enjoying better lives through quality retail experiences.
Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and proactive Promotions Analyst to join our Merchandise Team. The position involves coordinating promotional activities, ensuring timely communication and seamless execution to enhance promotional effectiveness and support stores, customers, and supplier partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize weekly planning, implementation, and reporting for promotional display programs and related promotions.
- Oversee multiple promotional projects simultaneously, managing planned tasks alongside urgent or unforeseen demands in a dynamic retail setting.
- Ensure all promotional data, competitor insights, and performance reports are accurate, punctual, and accessible to stores and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with Category teams, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Store Owners to maintain alignment of promotional activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, improve, and automate promotional workflows, reporting, and communication channels.
- Provide support for team continuity by covering absences and contributing to additional analysis, reporting, and projects as needed.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate adapts well to shifting priorities, excels at multitasking, and responds swiftly to changing plans. They demonstrate problem-solving skills through logical thinking, curiosity, and comprehensive operational knowledge. Confidence in working with data systems is essential, preferably with experience using SAP, Power BI, and Excel to facilitate decision-making and reporting.
Experience in retail, FMCG, or supermarkets is highly advantageous. Exposure to store environments or collaboration with Foodstuffs members is even more beneficial, as understanding how promotions function on the ground is crucial.
Though early career candidates are welcome, a desire to learn, take ownership, and thrive in a role that is both operational and business-critical is necessary. The role requires energy, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude.
What We Offer
- Complimentary parking with over 1,000 spaces including electric vehicle charging plugs.
- Healthcare benefits via Southern Cross.
- Onsite café offering subsidized meals, mini-market, and a 5% discount at retail stores.
- Flexible working options, a birthday day off, and various engaging onsite activities.
- Access to in-house learning and development courses, flu vaccinations, and social groups known as Tribes.
