Project Manager - Remote (North America Public Safety Division)

About the Role

The role involves leading major software implementation projects within the North America Public Safety division of Octave. This position demands oversight of all facets of project delivery, maintaining clear communications, nurturing customer relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the chief communication link between customer project managers, agency and internal Octave stakeholders, and project teams.
• Coordinate and facilitate regular status meetings with both internal teams and customers, overseeing agenda creation, documentation, minutes, and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with project teams to monitor task execution, project milestones, reporting progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Update and manage customer-facing task trackers and project plans to ensure precise completion and alignment with the Statement of Work (SOW).
• Raise issues within the project management office (PMO) and service leadership to protect project outcomes.
• Represent projects to executive leadership as necessary.
• Understand and align the project SOW and Levels of Effort (LOEs) with ongoing project progress and deliverables.
• Partner with technical and pod management to secure and allocate required project resources.
• Coordinate with team members to identify and resolve issues or escalate them to technical leadership and Product group as appropriate.
• Facilitate issue resolution to safeguard project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
• Consistently update the PMO Salesforce portal with project status, risks, and critical milestones.
• Present project risks, achievements, and resource needs in regular risk review meetings.
• Analyze labor reports for individual task performance against expectations.
• Manage monthly Estimate At Completion (EAC) forecasts in conjunction with Project Accounting.
• Monitor weekly and monthly project financial trajectories to prevent budget overruns and coordinate mitigation actions with PMO leadership.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
• PMI PMP certification or comparable accreditation is mandatory.
• At least five years of experience managing large-scale software implementation projects.
• Proven track record in handling complex technical projects and programs, preferably within the Public Safety sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Self-driven, detail-focused, and highly organized with a professional approach to project management.
• Passionate about the discipline of project management with a commitment to ownership and excellence.
