Role Overview
As a Program Manager in Academic Affairs, you will act as a trusted partner supporting the Director of Academic Affairs by managing relationships with residency and fellowship programs, developing policies to drive operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. This role requires collaboration with medical and operational leaders to support program onboarding, continuous improvement, and alignment with strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Residency and Fellowship Programs, collaborating with Medical, Regional, and Program Directors.
- Lead implementation of initiatives and policies aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness within Academic Affairs.
- Serve as the main operational contact for academic programs, advising on ACGME compliance, finance processes, and program culture.
- Support Program Directors with accreditation readiness, site visits, and core faculty development.
- Manage launch activities for new academic programs, including infrastructure setup and orientation of new directors.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate program information and operational alignment.
- Potentially supervise team members as the Academic Affairs function expands.
- Exercise judgment in resolving operational challenges and recommend improvements.
- Track and analyze academic program metrics such as satisfaction, growth, accreditation, and operational KPIs.
- Create dashboards and reports to enhance leadership decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide subject matter expertise in academic affairs during business development discussions.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to design and support GME-accredited fellowships and training programs.
- Align academic program operations with organizational growth strategies.
- Represent Academic Affairs in strategic discussions with hospital leadership, advocating for program value.
- Work with marketing, recruitment, and operational teams to promote programs and support physician pipeline development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with physician residency and/or fellowship programs.
- Experience within hospital systems and understanding of hospital operations.
- Proven client-facing experience.
- Preferred experience in higher education and familiarity with applicant tracking systems and Salesforce.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience managing executive relationships with hospital leadership and C-suite stakeholders preferred.
- Background in contract development, partnership management, or healthcare business development preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for formal presentations.
- Superior listening skills coupled with decisive judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.
- Ability to foster collaboration across all organizational levels.
- Energetic, approachable personality with a proactive, results-driven approach.
- Strong presentation and data analysis skills to influence leadership decisions.
- Executive presence and credible representation in interactions with senior leaders.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to evaluate partnership opportunities and guide contract decisions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management in complex, multi-site healthcare environments.

Compensation and Employment Terms
The base salary range is $95,590 to $121,875 annually, excluding bonuses and fringe benefits. Employees may participate in an annual corporate bonus program linked to company performance.
