Product Information Manager

Role Overview

The Product Information Manager based in Abu Dhabi is tasked with overseeing the accuracy, management, and governance of product and nutritional data throughout the full product lifecycle. This includes detailed management of nutritional information, recipes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), product specifications, ingredient data, and labeling to ensure precision, regulatory compliance, and support for product development and manufacturing consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer nutritional expertise during food and beverage product development, reformulation, and commercialization phases.
• Collaborate with Product Development teams to meet nutritional objectives while preserving product quality, taste, and market viability.
• Advise on ingredient substitutes to improve nutritional value, functionality, and reduce costs.
• Evaluate nutritional implications of formulation adjustments throughout development.
• Calculate and validate nutritional values using approved tools and prepare accurate nutrition facts panels.
• Ensure all product labeling complies with food regulations and health claim legislation.
• Review and authenticate nutrition and health claims based on scientific and regulatory standards.
• Assess ingredients including vitamins, minerals, proteins, fibers, sweeteners, and botanicals for appropriateness in products.
• Keep abreast of latest nutrition science, research, dietary guidelines, and health trends to support innovation.
• Maintain and update product recipes, ingredient specifications, and nutritional data within management systems.
• Facilitate automation and improvements in BOMs aligning formulations with manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure recipe and BOM data accuracy.
• Conduct training for staff on nutrition labeling, health claims, and compliance obligations.
• Disseminate updates on nutrition science advancements, legislation changes, and best industry practices.
• Promote nutrition awareness and healthy product development initiatives across the company.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of relevant experience including two years in a managerial capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food research and product development processes.
• Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with product stability testing and shelf-life evaluation techniques.
• Experience with food products, manufacturing methods, and ingredients pertinent to the product category.
