About the Organization
The Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) advances Singapore's national security through the development of digital solutions. The team contributes to critical national objectives by leveraging technical expertise to build robust, innovative products.
Role Overview
As a Product Engineer specializing in Operations Management, you will play a key role in an agile product team dedicated to improving operational workflows. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of national security operations by designing and implementing digital tools tailored to stakeholder needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deeply understand business processes and develop user-centric solutions.
- Architect, construct, and implement web-based applications utilizing contemporary full stack technologies such as React, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes to increase workflow efficiency.
- Design and maintain HTTP APIs that facilitate interaction between backend microservices, databases, and external APIs.
- Create and execute unit, functional, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability and robustness.
- Participate as an integral member of a diverse team comprising product managers, business analysts, designers, and other engineers.
- Potentially deploy directly to operational teams, develop business domain expertise, and co-develop technical solutions critical to mission success.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
- Solid programming experience in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in at least one major framework such as React or Spring Boot.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of database structures, writing efficient queries, and applying optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies including continuous integration/deployment and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Comfortable working within Linux or Unix operating environments.
