Product Designer

Position Overview

We are collaborating with a partner company to source a Product Designer who will be based in Germany. This role provides an exciting chance for a designer with early professional experience to contribute to a mature product that serves developer workflows, while growing alongside skilled design professionals. The position involves delivering intuitive, high-quality user experiences that balance complex user needs with business and technical constraints. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and senior designers, improving existing features and introducing meaningful product enhancements in a remote-first setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead well-scoped product design initiatives in an established product segment, addressing enhancements, iterative improvements, edge scenarios, usability boosts, and consistency in interface design.
• Convert product requirements and user needs into comprehensive, production-ready designs incorporating interaction design, information architecture, and visual design standards.
• Engage with senior designers through peer reviews, feedback loops, and mentoring to elevate design quality and craftsmanship.
• Participate in user research efforts by assisting in interviews, usability studies, and synthesizing insights to inform design adjustments.
• Employ and expand design system patterns to maintain a coherent, scalable, and efficient user interface.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers during implementation, articulating design rationale and helping to resolve product complexities.
• Prepare design materials to support product launches, onboarding, release communications, and announcements of new features.
• Broaden technical understanding of developer workflows and infrastructure concepts to create more effective design solutions.
• Utilize AI-based tools to enhance ideation, exploration, automation, and productivity in daily design tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Two to five years of professional experience in Product Design, preferably focused on B2B, technical, SaaS, or developer-centric products.
• Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and principles of user-centered design.
• Expertise with Figma, along with knowledge of contemporary design systems and component-oriented design approaches.
• A portfolio or demonstrable work samples showcasing completed product designs, design process, interaction decisions, and visual design quality.
• Capability to manage iterative design projects with consistent attention to detail and quality across different product areas.
• Effective communication skills to clearly explain design choices verbally and in writing.
• Receptiveness to feedback, collaboration, and guidance from more experienced designers.
• A keen interest in technical users, developer workflows, and complicated software products.
• Comfortable integrating AI tools into the design workflow and eager to explore their potential benefits.
• Fluent English proficiency at B2 level or higher; candidates must be based in Europe.
• Additional experience with DevOps tools, infrastructure products, observability, CI/CD pipelines, design tokens, HTML/CSS, code-driven prototyping, or artifact-centered product methods is advantageous.
