Procurement Officer

Overview

Based in Dubai, UAE, this role focuses on overseeing the procurement activities for interior fit-out, design & build, and construction projects. The Procurement Officer is tasked with sourcing materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and subcontractors necessary for successful project delivery while maintaining alignment with company policies and project goals.

Primary Duties

• Identify and source required materials, equipment, FF&E, and subcontractors for fit-out initiatives.
• Collect and assess quotations from multiple vendors ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Engage in negotiations around pricing, payment terms, and contracts to optimize cost efficiency.
• Raise purchase orders strictly adhering to budget constraints.
• Foster and sustain strong partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors, including evaluating their performance.
• Resolve issues related to suppliers, including delays and disputes.
• Collaborate with project teams—Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Design teams, and Site Engineers—to define procurement requirements and scheduling.
• Monitor material deliveries, managing logistics to ensure timely availability on site.
• Track and report procurement expenditures, comparing with budget estimates and highlighting variances.
• Assist in budget preparation and manage costs to avoid overspending while identifying savings opportunities without affecting quality.
• Maintain thorough records of procurement documentation, contracts, purchase orders, and supplier information for compliance and auditing.
• Oversee inventory levels, coordinate replenishment, and optimize stock management to reduce waste.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
• Between 3 to 5 years of procurement experience within interior fit-out, design & build, construction, or contracting sectors.
• Hands-on experience with procurement of fit-out materials, joinery, MEP supplies, finishes, and subcontractor services.
• Preferred background includes working experience in UAE or GCC construction markets.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient negotiation and effective vendor relationship management capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of fit-out materials, construction processes, and marketplace suppliers.
• Solid understanding of procurement procedures, contractual terms, and commercial negotiations.
• Good analytical skills with ability to manage costs and budget constraints.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent organizational abilities, multitasking, and time management under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.

Compensation

Monthly salary ranges from AED 12,000 to AED 15,000.
