Porter

Job Overview

The Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across all critical areas within the warehouse, ensuring a secure environment for both customers and staff. This includes promptly addressing spills or hazardous substances and rigorously keeping sanitation and cleaning logs updated daily in line with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Sweep interior and exterior areas of the building regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all restrooms within the facility.
• Clean windows, doors, and coffee areas as necessary.
• Manage all trash containers on-site, including operation of trash compactor and cardboard baler when required.
• Utilize floor scrubbing machines to maintain clean floors.
• Promptly clean up any spills within the warehouse to prevent hazards.
• Support cleaning of employee break rooms according to schedule.
• Collaborate with department managers to clean aisles as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and verify sanitation logs as specified.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by management, such as minor paint touch-ups and lighting maintenance.

Requirements

• Effective communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation protocols.
• Familiarity with operating floor machines, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
