Position Purpose

The Plant Operator supports daily plant operations that involve receiving, treating, and disposing of clinical waste. The role aims to maximize plant uptime and efficiency, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload vehicles and trailers according to site procedures.
  • Handle and move waste efficiently around the plant, including weighing containers.
  • Ensure waste containers are emptied, thoroughly cleaned, and stored properly for collection.
  • Manage paperwork and reception processes for all incoming deliveries, including suppliers and contractors.
  • Supervise safe transfer of loose waste into containers when delivered.
  • Operate forklifts when required.
  • Participate in plant shutdown activities as needed.
  • Keep accurate operational records and data related to plant activities.
  • Report any significant equipment or building defects to management before taking action.
  • Assist Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
  • Observe and comply with all safety signage and protocols at all times.
  • Attend job-specific training courses or instructions as required.
  • Perform additional duties to ensure the plant operates safely and remains compliant.
