Planning Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and highly organised Planning Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The position entails developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules to ensure engineering and industrial projects are delivered within agreed timeframes and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules utilizing tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Establish baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project execution plans.
• Track project progress, highlight any scheduling deviations, and recommend adjustments to avoid delays.
• Conduct critical path analysis and implement corrective steps when necessary.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project teams to facilitate timely project execution.
• Compile weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and schedule updates for senior management.
• Oversee project milestones, deliverables, and allocation of resources.
• Contribute to project planning meetings and provide expertise on scheduling.
• Evaluate project scheduling risks and suggest mitigation approaches.
• Ensure alignment with organizational procedures and project planning standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Electrical, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in project planning and scheduling roles.
• Proficient use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software.
• Strong foundation in project controls, scheduling methodologies, and monitoring progress.
• Excellent analytical capabilities, organisational skills, and communication proficiency.
• Experience in industrial, infrastructure, energy, or engineering projects is advantageous.
