Pharmacy Data Analyst I

Role Overview

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is seeking a Pharmacy Data Analyst to join their Pharmacy Management team. This role involves supporting team efforts by developing, maintaining, and delivering reports and analytics that inform critical business decisions. A key responsibility is providing timely coverage review reporting for the Clinical Pharmacy Execution team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, verify, and distribute standard pharmacy-related reports and data files to assist the reporting process.
• Work collaboratively with vendors and internal stakeholders to capture business requirements and ensure deliverables meet those needs.
• Investigate and address inquiries and modification requests from business partners effectively.
• Provide support to fellow analysts as required.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Experience with data analytics, reporting, and foundational SQL skills.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau is advantageous.
• Previous pharmacy experience within healthcare organizations is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical reasoning, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new tools and AI-powered analytics technologies, specifically within platforms like Databricks.
• Able to function independently or collaboratively within teams, managing multiple projects and priorities under deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Adaptability to fast-paced and evolving work environments.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum two years experience in reporting, data analysis, or comparable roles.
• At least one year experience working with SAS (Base, Enterprise Guide, Studio), SQL, Tableau, or similar programming/statistical environments.

Additional Information

• The position supports core Eastern Time Zone hours from 8 AM to 5 PM.
• This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity with final interviews conducted at the Chattanooga, Tennessee office.
