Role Overview

The People team aims to optimize talent management through streamlined processes, with People Operations making it all run smoothly. This role focuses on architecting efficient workflows across the employee lifecycle—onboarding, offboarding, leaves, compliance, and more—transforming scattered processes into seamless and repeatable operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and document end-to-end employee lifecycle processes ensuring clear ownership and feedback mechanisms.
• Identify inefficiencies within People operations and HR business partners' workflows, redesigning processes to save time and proving improvements with metrics.
• Act as primary HRIS (Rippling) system administrator—configuring, integrating, and automating to eliminate manual tasks.
• Create playbooks, templates, and self-service resources to empower HRBPs and managers to manage operational tasks independently.
• Implement structured change management for people systems and processes, ensuring thorough testing and smooth deployments.
• Manage compliance tasks including I-9 and E-Verify, state registrations, labor law postings, policy updates, records management, and readiness for audits.
• Handle escalations involving complex employee matters crossing multiple systems.
• Measure and report on operational metrics such as HRBP admin time, process cycle times, manual tasks, and system usage.
• Collaborate with Total Rewards, Recruiting, Benefits, and People Data teams to synchronize operations, systems, and employee experience.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or related operational roles, preferably within high-growth tech or SaaS environments.
• Proficient in HRIS administration, with experience in Rippling preferred; knowledge of Workday, BambooHR, or Personio also valued.
• Strong skills in process mapping, identifying bottlenecks, and redesigning workflows for better efficiency.
• Automation mindset focused on creating solutions from first principles to minimize manual work.
• Competent in analyzing and acting on operational data independently.
• Familiarity with multi-state US employment compliance.
• Excellent written communication skills capable of producing clear process documentation.
• Detail-oriented with solid operational judgment, recognizing when to follow procedures or escalate issues.

Preferred Credentials

• Experience with HRIS implementations or full-cycle system deployments.
• Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP.
• Experience managing multi-state or multi-entity operations.
• Background supporting HR business partners in a collaborative model.

Initial 90-Day Plan

• During the first 30 days, assess time-wasting points by engaging HRBPs and stakeholders, creating a prioritized list of efficiency opportunities, and launching quick wins.
• By 60 days, develop and put into action redesigned processes, build support resources, and implement a basic change management process.
• Within 90 days, have key solutions operational, reduce HRBP administrative load, automate at least two processes, and establish a roadmap for future improvements.

Compensation

The position offers a starting salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, along with stock options. Exact compensation depends on experience, education, and market factors.

Location & Remote Work

Flock embraces remote work across the United States but prefers candidates near hubs like Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco to foster innovation.
