About the Role
As a People Advisor at NZ Post, you will serve as a trusted resource for leaders, offering practical and consistent guidance on everyday employee and HR-related matters. This role operates within a contemporary onshore-offshore shared model and is based in Wellington's central business district, with opportunities for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver sound, risk-aligned advice on employee relations, performance management, employment policies, and related issues.
- Manage employee cases comprehensively from initial enquiry through resolution, escalating complex or high-risk issues when appropriate.
- Coach and support leaders to enhance their people management capability and confidence.
- Assist in change management activities, including required documentation and stakeholder consultations.
- Collaborate closely with offshore HR teams to ensure prompt and accurate processing of people transactions.
- Identify trends and suggest improvements to people management practices.
About You
You are an experienced HR generalist or People Advisor with a passion for partnering closely with business leaders and resolving HR challenges. You bring sound judgment, a calm approach to assessing risk, and a genuine commitment to helping people make the right decisions. You are well-organized, approachable, skilled at managing multiple priorities, and value clarity and consistency in HR processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a generalist HR or People Advisory capacity.
- Familiarity with New Zealand employment legislation and employee relations principles.
- Ability to confidently handle performance issues, conduct concerns, and change-related matters.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience working effectively within shared services or onshore-offshore models.
- A customer-focused, practical, and solutions-oriented mindset.
