Job Overview
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist for a fixed-term contract of 24 months to join our nationwide Payroll Team within People & Culture Operations. You can choose your workplace from Essen, Mülheim, Mandern, Ennepetal, Schönebeck, Ilsenburg, or Chemnitz.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete monthly payroll process for your assigned area, including working hours, absences, bonuses, and one-time payments ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Maintain oversight of taxes and social security contributions, including submissions to health insurance companies, tax offices, and other authorities, alongside regular audits.
- Handle benefits and HR-related tasks closely linked to payroll, such as JobBike, company cars, occupational pensions, and special cases with correct tax evaluations.
- Organize time management by maintaining master data, resolving special cases, and ensuring the proper implementation of collective agreements and company agreements.
- Prepare reports to assist in monthly and annual closing analyses.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by actively participating in payroll and time management projects while collaborating closely with the nationwide team.
Candidate Profile
- Completed commercial vocational training.
- Basic experience in payroll processing and understanding of tax and social security law foundations with a desire to deepen knowledge.
- Affinity for technology and numbers, comfortable working with payroll, HR, and time management systems, and quickly adaptable to new tools.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with internal teams, external partners, and authorities.
- Open to change with a proactive attitude towards future process improvements.
