Role Overview
The Patient Care Coordinator position is a temporary, full-time role based in Glendale, California, for a term of three months. Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this role primarily involves managing patient appointments within the clinic’s electronic medical records system and ensuring precise record keeping. The coordinator identifies candidates for Preventive Dental Evaluations, organizes appointments, provides daily metrics, and communicates results to patients, all while collaborating closely with in-office assistants and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and confirm patient appointment scheduling using the clinic’s EMR system.
- Analyze daily clinic schedules to locate patients who qualify for Preventive Dental Evaluations based on Health Bridge’s criteria.
- Coordinate with clinical teams and assistants to facilitate smooth patient flow, timely check-ins, and last-minute schedule changes.
- Capture and track daily appointment metrics across multiple schedules and compile reports to aid clinic management and planning.
- Act as primary contact for patients regarding appointment check-ins, cancellations, and reschedules.
- Communicate with clinical and dental teams regarding scheduling and coordination of Preventive Dental evaluations.
- Convey patient evaluation results via phone, providing Spanish language support when required.
- Support credentialing activities for physicians and assistants.
- Maintain meticulous patient demographic and appointment documentation within the EMR, adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Assist with general administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent is mandatory.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
- Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail and capacity to handle multiple schedules and priorities efficiently.
- Proactive problem-solving capabilities to address scheduling challenges promptly in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, Google Suites, and related software tools.
- Fluency in Spanish is compulsory.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR software such as Epic, Dentrix, or Athena is advantageous.
Additional Information
