Part-time Production Assistant

Job Overview

This position involves supporting local audio programming for ESPN New York by editing various audio recordings for broadcast and operating audio board equipment during live shows. The role may also offer chances to collaborate with production teams on live, multi-platform on-air content creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit play-by-play highlights, actualities, and audio content from ESPN New York and other ESPN shows across all platforms.
• Determine and select the most relevant audio segments for ESPN NY Audio and additional ESPN platforms.
• Maintain strong general sports knowledge and familiarity with ESPN NY Audio and ESPN programming.
• Catalog all edited audio and distribute significant segments to ESPN New York production teams across platforms.
• Load playlists and log commercials, sales, and promotional spots for live and multi-platform broadcasts.
• Monitor on-air products for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards.
• Complete scheduled technical training sessions to maintain operational proficiency.
• Assist producers by generating story ideas, delivering research for interviews, and producing show elements.
• Contribute to creative concepts for ESPN NY Audio and multi-platform content.
• Support the ESPN NY Audio imaging team with promotional and show production tasks.
• Work under close supervision with regular review for timeliness, accuracy, and procedural adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of commercial production experience in either a network or local radio environment.
• Proficient knowledge of audio operator boards and ESPN NY Audio programming is required.
• Preferred: At least 2 years experience at a commercial network or local radio station.

Education

• Required: High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this role in New York, NY ranges from $22.50 to $30.14. Actual pay will depend on qualifications, experience, and region. Eligible employees may receive benefits including medical and financial plans, depending on their position level.
