Painter and Polisher

Overview

The role involves applying paint, stains, and various finishes to surfaces such as walls, ceilings, and furniture using tools like brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Preparation steps include priming or sealing new surfaces and removing old paint or finishes through methods like sanding or abrasive blasting. Protective coverings must be applied to surfaces during painting, and signage should be posted to indicate painting activity. Tool cleaning and proper storage are expected post-task. Coordination with vendors to adjust paint colors as needed is part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Apply various coatings to property surfaces using manual and mechanical tools.
• Prepare surfaces by applying primers or stripping old finishes using diverse techniques.
• Protect surrounding areas from paint damage and display appropriate safety signage.
• Maintain cleanliness of painting equipment and store it correctly.
• Communicate and coordinate with suppliers for paint, stain, or varnish modifications.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or accidents following company protocols.
• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and complete necessary safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance and protect proprietary information.
• Engage courteously with guests, including supporting guests with disabilities.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to meet shared objectives.
• Physically capable of performing tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for long durations.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Educational background from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School.
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience in painting or finishing roles.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification necessary.
